What LoW is All About
SINGLES ONLY
The only requirements for membership are to be legally single, and when attending an official LoW function, you may not share a rig with a member of the opposite sex. We are a club of "Mingling Singles."
SHARED INTERESTS
It's great being around people, discussing RVs, and traveling. We not only learn about the best places to visit, but also what is new in the industry and how to fix things. See how other travelers solve common problems.
MONTHLY NEWSLETTER
A newsletter is mailed to each member monthly. All national and chapter events, as well as new members and member news, are covered in the newsletter
CAMPOUTS
You'll be among friends here, even if you're new to LoW. Join in the activities or sit around a campfire. HUGS are always offered with morning coffee. Sometimes breakfast is provided. Potlucks or dinners out are everyday occurrences, with cards, games, hiking, canoeing, biking and/or dancing nightly. Side trips to local events and places of interest with other members are fun, or, if you prefer, just relax and enjoy the day.
Campout locations are listed in our newsletter by state. The northern states generally concentrate on the summer months and the south on the winter months thus, providing camping all year long! The campouts are gnerally held on weekends to give our working members a chance to participate.
They range from boondocking (no hookups) to full hookups at RV parks. Many are held in State and Federal parks with various levels of hookups. Details and directions are provided in the newsletter along with a contact person who can answer questions regarding a particular campout. You don't need to know anyone just show up and be assured of being welcomed with hugs and smiles and the chance to make wonderful new friends. Whether you have a 5th wheel, a travel trailer, a class A coach, a class B van, a class C motorhome, or even a tent, you are welcome at our gatherings.
LoW members and their guests gather at rallies held yearly in the Midwest, Northeast, Washington, Florida, California, New Mexico, Texas and Ontario.
Rallies are events that usually attract more participants than the monthly, regional campouts. They usually span a period of 4 to 6 days and many include breakfast and most dinners. There is a rally fee to cover these expenses. There is generally a theme for each rally that may include a costume party and associated games. Some emphasize special events such as dancing that can include dancing lessons. The rallies are held all over the country and are advertised in our monthly newsletter. There is information on fees, registration and events. These are a great way to meet many new friends and reconnect with old friends from all over the country.
LoW members and their guests sometimes gather at special events or get togethers with themes like kayaking, golfing, dancing, in various parts of the country.
Some of our retired or full-timer members enjoy visiting one of the all-winter rallies in California or Arizona, as well as popular RV parks where singles gather in Florida, south Texas and at the LoW-HI RV Ranch in Deming, New Mexico.
We have over 50 Chapters in the USA and Canada, with nearly 2,200 members. Each Chapter has at least one campout each month or, during off-seasons, dinners, luncheons and such. It is not required that you join a chapter, but often that is where the fun is. You are welcome to visit, even if not a local member. Chapters elect officers and hold a short business meeting each month to conduct their business. The more you participate, the quicker you will get to know the other members. When traveling, check out other chapters. Our aim is to enjoy life in our beautiful outdoors with camaraderie.
ANNUAL DIRECTORY
Members are listed alphabetically and by state, with individual hobbies, interests, etc. There is a section for "Invite To Park," so as you travel you may park in a member's yard or driveway and make a new friend at the same time. A section on "the good guys" lists a selection of mechanics, repair locations and services nationwide that have been found to be reliable. We also give locations of dumpsites nationwide. The directory is available by mail or in person at the LoW-HI RV Ranch
LOW INTERNATIONAL
LoW International is the parent organization of the Chapters, coordinating activities and events via a monthly newsletter. Officers are elected each year and receive no salary.
